Bognonzra is a small place in the Sassandra-Marahoué district of central-western Ivory Coast. The area lies in the transition between the forest zone to the south and the more open country further north, and it is mostly agricultural. From above, the settlement is a cluster of buildings with a few main streets. Tracks lead out through the fields and patches of tree cover.
Across this part of the country, towns and villages are connected by laterite roads and a smaller number of paved routes. Farms, plantations and scattered woodland fill the spaces between them.
