East Longmeadow is a town in western Massachusetts, just southeast of Springfield and bordering Connecticut. Its best-known map feature is the rotary at the town centre, where several main roads meet in a single circle, which is unusual even for New England. From above, the roads spread outward from it like spokes and give the town a clear, radial structure.
Between those roads, residential neighbourhoods fill in with curving streets, cul-de-sacs and generous lots, broken up by patches of woodland, ponds and farmland toward the edges. The town was once known for its sandstone quarries, whose brownstone was used in buildings across the region. Today it is mainly a quiet suburban community with a small-town centre.
