Fasā Map Poster & Print
Fasā lies south-east of Shiraz in Fars Province, on a wide agricultural plain framed by the long parallel ridges of the Zagros. From above, the town forms a compact, roughly rounded mass. Wide avenues cross it, while a finer network of older lanes fills the spaces between. Around the edges, gardens, orchards and fields form a patchwork that surrounds the built-up area.
The area has been settled for a very long time. Close to the town is Tall-e Zahhak, a large ancient mound that has been linked to the old city of Pasa, from which the modern name is thought to come. Fasā today is a regional centre with its own university of medical sciences, and its newer districts have spread along the main roads.
A Fasā map poster brings out the contrast between old and new plans. In the historic core, lanes are irregular and inward-looking, in the pattern of traditional Iranian towns. Later avenues cut straight lines through and around it. In monochrome, the dense old centre, the geometric newer streets and the surrounding field boundaries make a layered and quietly detailed composition.

Tall-e Zahhak mound
The ancient mound near the town marks a far older settlement. On the map it reads as an open, rounded patch just beyond the modern streets.
Orchard and field belt
Gardens and farm plots surround the town in a fine patchwork. They soften the urban edge and link the streets to the wider plain.
