Feicheng is a county-level city under Tai'an in western Shandong province, on the plain south-west of Mount Tai. From above, its centre shows a fairly regular grid of broad avenues and large blocks, typical of modern Chinese cities. Newer districts extend outward, and hills rise in parts of the surrounding countryside.
The city is best known for its peaches. Feicheng peaches have been grown here for centuries and are one of the region's recognised local products, so orchards make up much of the landscape around the urban area. In a wider frame, rural roads and field boundaries fan out from the city into this farmland.
