Freguesia is a neighbourhood on Ilha do Governador, the largest island in Guanabara Bay, within the city of Rio de Janeiro. From above, the island's irregular coastline dominates the scene, with small coves, beaches and headlands framing streets that climb the gentle hills of the interior.
