Gainesville Map Poster & Print
Gainesville lies in north-central Florida, away from the coast, in a landscape of oak woodland, lakes and wetlands. The map is centred on the University of Florida, whose large campus fills much of the south-western part of the city with curving roads, open lawns and Lake Alice. To the east, the older downtown forms a compact grid, and residential neighbourhoods spread out beneath a dense tree canopy.
Just south of the city lies Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, a wide savanna and wetland where wild horses and bison roam. North of the city, the Devil's Millhopper is a deep sinkhole with small waterfalls running down its sides. Gatorade was developed at the University of Florida in 1965 and named after its sports teams, the Gators.
A Gainesville map poster shows a city that blends urban grid with natural space. The campus stands out as a large, open area within the street pattern, the lakes form quiet shapes among the neighbourhoods, and the prairie to the south opens up the bottom of the frame. It is a balanced image of a college town in its landscape.

Downtown grid
The historic downtown east of campus forms a compact, regular grid. It contrasts with the looser, curving streets of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Paynes Prairie
South of the city, the prairie preserve forms a wide, open expanse of wetland and savanna. It frames the bottom of the poster with a large, calm space.

Kwa nini Gainesville
