St Peter Port
The capital's streets rise steeply from the harbour front. They form a dense, irregular cluster on the east coast that contrasts with the scattered lanes inland.

Guernsey is roughly triangular, and its land tilts from a high southern plateau edged by cliffs down to low ground and wide sandy bays in the north. From above, the island is covered by a fine mesh of narrow lanes, stone walls and small fields. It is divided into ten parishes, and very little ground is left without a road running through it.
St Peter Port, the capital, climbs a steep slope on the east coast. Its old streets and stepped alleys lead down to a harbour guarded by Castle Cornet. The castle stands on a rocky islet joined to the shore by a breakwater. Across the water lie Herm, Jethou and Sark, and in a wider frame they sit just off the eastern edge of the poster.
Victor Hugo spent fifteen years in exile in St Peter Port and completed Les Misérables at Hauteville House. The island also carries traces of the German occupation in the Second World War, with bunkers and towers along the coast. A Guernsey map poster sets all of this within one compact outline, where every lane seems to lead in the end to the sea.

Castle Cornet
A fortress on a rocky islet at the mouth of the harbour. A long breakwater joins it to the land and draws a clean straight line into the water.
Southern cliffs
The south coast rises into high cliffs cut by small bays. This gives the lower edge of the island a firm, sharp line against the open Channel.

Kwa nini Guernsey
Ramani yenye maana
Guernsey maps hang on the walls of islanders who moved away, families with roots in a particular parish, and visitors who walked the cliff paths or sailed into St Peter Port. Anyone who knows the island recognises the outline at once.
Personalise the title with your parish or house name, add a date, and change the coordinates line. Five styles are available, including Noir and Blueprint. The $9 download gives you 300 DPI PNG and PDF files in six sizes, with no watermark.
