Juhaynah is a town in Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt, in the narrow strip of farmland that follows the Nile through the desert. On a map the town is a compact cluster of streets and closely built houses, surrounded on nearly every side by rectangular fields and the irrigation canals that water them.
