Ridge-top roads
Roads follow the tops and flanks of the hills, curving with the terrain. On the poster they form flowing lines that show the rolling landscape without any shading.

Kasanje Map Poster & Print
Kasanje is a town in Wakiso District, in Uganda's Central Region, southwest of Kampala and not far from the northern shores of Lake Victoria. The area has long been farmland on rolling hills. In recent years the outward growth of greater Kampala has brought new homes, trading centres and small businesses, though bananas, coffee and vegetables are still grown on many plots.
From above, the landscape follows the classic Buganda pattern: settlements and roads on the ridges and hilltops, with papyrus and swampy valleys in the low ground between. The streets are irregular and bend with the hills, and the town centre is a cluster of trading lanes where the main roads meet. This is a map of curves and soft edges rather than grids.
A Kasanje map poster suits families who have built here, people who grew up in the area and relatives abroad who want to see where home is. In black and white, the interplay of ridges, roads and wetlands becomes a quiet, organic design, recognisably of this region, that looks at home on any wall.

Valley wetlands
The low ground between the hills holds papyrus swamps and seasonal wetlands. They appear as open, irregular spaces that divide neighbourhoods and give the map its structure.
Trading centre
Where the main roads meet, a compact cluster of shops and lanes forms the town's commercial heart, the densest spot on a map otherwise defined by scattered homesteads.
