Crescents and cul-de-sacs
Curving residential streets and dead-end courts create an organic, almost botanical pattern that is characteristic of the West Island and very different from Montreal's grids.

Kirkland Map Poster & Print
Kirkland lies on the West Island of Montreal, and its map is typical of a carefully planned postwar suburb. Instead of a grid, residential streets curve into crescents and loops, with many short cul-de-sacs branching off. Parks and school grounds appear as open spaces between the neighbourhoods, and a few main roads carry traffic through.
The strongest feature is Highway 40, the Trans-Canada, which crosses the city from east to west and separates the northern and southern neighbourhoods. Like Westmount, Kirkland was merged into Montreal in 2002 and became independent again in 2006. The town takes its name from Charles-Aimé Kirkland, a local doctor and politician.
A Kirkland map poster turns those winding streets into a pattern that resembles a fingerprint or a leaf. It works especially well if the frame is centred on your own street, so the loop where you grew up or bought a first house sits right in the middle of the print.

Highway 40 corridor
The Trans-Canada Highway runs straight through the city, a wide, confident line with interchanges that splits the gentle curves of the neighbourhoods into two halves.
Parks between neighbourhoods
Parks, playing fields and school grounds sit among the housing, appearing as open pale areas that give the dense street pattern space to breathe.

Kwa nini Kirkland
Ramani yenye maana
Kirkland is often where families settle, raise children and put down roots, so a map of the neighbourhood tends to become a family piece. It is a good gift for a housewarming or for someone moving away from the West Island.
The title and subtitle can carry a family name, a street or a moving-in date, and the coordinates line can point to the exact house. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Blueprint suits the planned layout nicely.
