Krasnoobsk Map Poster & Print
Krasnoobsk lies just south of Novosibirsk and was built as a centre for agricultural research. It became home to the Siberian branch of the national academy of agricultural sciences, and its layout still shows that planned origin. The town is a compact group of residential blocks and institute buildings, surrounded by experimental fields and forest instead of sprawling suburbs.
On a map, Krasnoobsk looks very different from an old Russian town. There is no historic core and no irregular pattern of lanes. Instead, larger blocks are arranged around open courtyards and connected by a small number of internal roads. Beyond the edges, large rectangular plots of research farmland form a second, larger geometry, and the Ob basin lies to the east.
A Krasnoobsk map poster shows a Soviet-era science town in plain line work, with the order of its microdistricts and the wide surroundings in view. It is a natural choice for researchers, alumni of the institutes and families who settled here, and for anyone interested in how planned towns were designed in the late twentieth century.

Research fields
Large rectangular experimental plots around the town reflect its agricultural research purpose and give the edges of the map a clear geometric texture.
Next to Novosibirsk
The town lies just beyond the southern edge of Siberia's largest city, and the road links run north toward the city.
