Venta River
The Venta winds past the town in loose bends. It gives the map a soft, natural line in contrast with the straight roads and rail tracks.

Mazeikiai Map Poster & Print
Mazeikiai is in north-western Lithuania, close to the Latvian border. The Venta River curves past the town, and its meandering course is the strongest natural line on the map. The older centre sits near the railway, which was the reason the town grew in the first place. Beyond it, wide streets and large residential blocks from the Soviet period fill out the plan.
The town is best known for its oil refinery, the only one in the Baltic states. It was built in the Soviet era and now operates as Orlen Lietuva. The refinery lies outside the residential area, and on a map its large complex and rail sidings form a very different kind of geometry from the town's streets: long straight tracks, big rectangles and very little curve.
Put together, the elements of Mazeikiai make a varied map. There are the river loops, the railway line, the older streets near the station, the open layouts of the housing estates and the industrial grid in the distance. A Mazeikiai map poster brings all of them onto one sheet, showing how a small town was reshaped by railway and industry.

Railway heart
The railway runs through the town, and the older streets gather around the station area where Mazeikiai first grew as a junction settlement.
Housing estates
Large Soviet-era residential blocks appear as open layouts with wide gaps between buildings, a different texture from the tighter prewar streets.
