Muara Teweh Map Poster & Print
Muara Teweh is the capital of North Barito Regency in Central Kalimantan, on the Indonesian part of Borneo. It lies on the Barito River, one of the island's great waterways, and the river is the single most important feature of the map: a wide, curving band that the town follows along its bank.
As in many river towns in Kalimantan, the Barito long served as the main route for people and goods, connecting inland communities with the coast far downstream. The town's name refers to a river mouth, pointing to the meeting of waters that made the site important in the first place.
A Muara Teweh map poster captures a settlement shaped entirely by its river. Streets run parallel to the bank and step back from it, and the surrounding land, much of it forest and plantation, shows as broad open space. It is a strong, simple composition with a powerful central line.

Riverbank streets
The main streets follow the line of the bank. The town stretches in a long, narrow form instead of spreading evenly inland.
Forested margins
Beyond the built-up area, the map opens onto large unbroken tracts. They underline how the town sits as a clearing in the Borneo landscape.
