Nallavila is a town in Kanyakumari district, the southernmost district of Tamil Nadu, where the Indian peninsula narrows toward its tip. The area is densely settled, and from above the settlements tend to merge into one another. Lanes wind between houses and gardens instead of following a grid, and the map shows a fine, irregular network with few clear boundaries.
This part of the district lies between the coast of the Arabian Sea and the foothills of the Western Ghats.
