Nørrebro Map Poster & Print
Nørrebro begins where Dronning Louises Bro crosses the Lakes, the chain of reservoirs that separates Copenhagen's historic center from its nineteenth-century outer quarters. From that bridge, Nørrebrogade runs northwest as a single strong axis. The neighborhood spreads out on both sides in tight blocks of apartment buildings, many built quickly for workers as the city grew beyond its old fortifications.
Two green shapes stand out on the map. Assistens Kirkegård, a large walled cemetery that doubles as a park, holds the graves of Hans Christian Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard. Farther north, Superkilen stretches as a long, narrow urban park designed around objects gathered from dozens of countries. It reflects the mix of people who live in the district today.
A Nørrebro map poster shows a place defined by density and movement. Bicycle traffic across Dronning Louises Bro is among the heaviest in the city, and the streets branching off Nørrebrogade are short and closely spaced. The water of the Lakes gives the southeast edge a clean geometric border, while the rest of the district fills the frame with fine, even texture.

Assistens Kirkegård
The cemetery's large walled shape, crossed by tree-lined paths, is one of the calmest forms in the district. Locals use it as a park.
Nørrebrogade
The main street runs in a straight line from the Lakes toward the northwest. It is a long spine from which the smaller residential streets branch at regular intervals.
