Straight town streets
Long roads and regular blocks define the town's layout. The pattern suits the flat terrain and is common to many towns on the Mughan plain.

Pushkino Map Poster & Print
Pushkino is the Soviet-era name of the town now officially called Biləsuvar, the administrative centre of Bilasuvar District in southern Azerbaijan. The town was renamed in the early 1990s, but the older name still appears in many records and memories. It lies on the Mughan plain, very close to the border with Iran, where a town with almost the same name sits on the other side.
The Mughan plain is one of the flattest landscapes in the Caucasus, and the map reflects this. The town's streets form a fairly regular layout of long, straight roads. Around it the land is divided into rectangular fields crossed by irrigation canals. There are no hills to interrupt the pattern, so straight lines dominate in every direction.
A Pushkino map poster suits people who knew the town by this name, perhaps from family stories or years spent in Soviet Azerbaijan. The print pairs the town's grid with the ruled lines of the farmland around it. The result is a calm, almost architectural composition in which the border region reads as ordered and quiet.

Irrigation canals
Canals and channels cut through the fields around the town. They draw fine straight lines across the map and divide the farmland into neat parcels.
Border edge
The Iranian border runs very close to the town. The map shows how the settlement sits at the southern edge of Azerbaijan's lowland.
