Rosemead lies in the San Gabriel Valley, east of downtown Los Angeles. Like much of the valley, it is laid out on a near-perfect grid. Long commercial streets such as Rosemead Boulevard and Valley Boulevard carry traffic through a fine mesh of residential blocks.
