South Laurel Map Poster & Print
South Laurel is a suburban community in Prince George's County, Maryland, just south of the city of Laurel. It sits in the corridor between Washington and Baltimore. It is not a traditional town. The map shows postwar and later neighbourhoods that grew up along main roads leading into the region's two big cities.
Street layouts vary from one neighbourhood to the next. Some areas have short, fairly regular blocks. Others use curving drives, loops and courts typical of later suburban planning. Wooded stream corridors run between them and appear as irregular open bands. Apartment complexes and shopping centres add larger, simpler footprints along the main roads.
A South Laurel map poster captures a pattern that many people in the Washington region know well, even if it is rarely drawn on its own. The neighbourhoods are distinct but connected. Greenery weaves through them, and fast arterial roads tie the area to the rest of the metropolitan network.

Wooded stream valleys
Wooded strips follow small streams through the community. They create soft, open areas between the dense residential street patterns.
Arterial corridors
Main roads run through the area toward Washington, Baltimore and nearby towns. They form the bold lines that organise the rest of the map.
