Taşucu is a coastal town in the Silifke district of Mersin province, on Turkey's southern Mediterranean coast. Its harbour is the defining feature, known for ferry and fast-boat connections across the sea to northern Cyprus. On a map, piers and breakwaters reach out from a straight shoreline, and the town's streets run parallel to the coast before climbing inland.
To the east lies the Göksu delta, a wide flat wetland where the river reaches the sea. Its lagoons and channels make a very different pattern from the tidy town blocks.
