Box canyon
Steep walls enclose the town on three sides, so streets stop abruptly at the slopes and the map shows a compact settlement with almost nothing spilling beyond it.

Telluride Map Poster & Print
Telluride sits in a box canyon in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado, and its map is one of the most enclosed of any mountain town. A tidy grid of short blocks lies along the San Miguel River, with Colorado Avenue as the main street. Cliffs close the canyon to the east, while the only easy way out follows the river west.
The town grew in the 1870s and 1880s as a mining camp, and in 1889 Butch Cassidy carried out his first known bank robbery at the San Miguel Valley Bank here. Today the historic district is a National Historic Landmark. A free gondola links the town over the ridge to Mountain Village, the resort community built on the high ground above.
A Telluride map poster sets the regular grid against the canyon walls on three sides, with Bridal Veil Falls at the head of the valley and the switchbacks of the road climbing toward it. Mountain Village appears as a looser network of curving roads on the high ground to the southwest, a clear contrast to the old town below.

Bridal Veil Falls
At the eastern end of the canyon a long waterfall drops from the cliffs, reached by a switchback road, with a historic hydroelectric plant standing at its top.
Gondola to Mountain Village
The free gondola climbs from town over the ridge to Mountain Village, a car-free link that connects two very different street patterns on a single map.

Kwa nini Telluride
Ramani yenye maana
Telluride is remote enough that reaching it feels like an achievement, and many visitors remember their first view up the canyon. A map poster captures that enclosed, almost theatrical setting in simple lines, and the compact grid gives the design a strong centre.
Add a title and subtitle for a festival, a wedding or a winter, set the coordinates line, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download a free 900 px preview first, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
