Ujeścisko-Łostowice is one of the southern districts of Gdańsk, set on the uplands above the historic city. Much of it has been built in the last few decades, and on a map it looks strikingly different from the old centre: wide collector roads, curving estate streets and large blocks of new apartments laid out across what was until recently open farmland.
The district's structure follows the terrain of the moraine plateau, with gentle slopes, small valleys and patches of woodland shaping where estates could be built. A tram line connects it to the rest of the city, drawn as a steady line through the newer neighbourhoods, while older village roads survive as winding routes among the modern streets.
Łostowice is also home to one of Gdańsk's large municipal cemeteries, which appears as a neatly divided green area on the plan.
