Venice Map Poster & Print
Venice is one of the few cities whose map is recognised at a glance. The historic centre is built on more than a hundred small islands in the Venetian Lagoon, pressed together so closely that they read as a single mass, roughly the shape of a fish. The Grand Canal winds through it in a reversed S, the main thoroughfare of a city where water takes the place of roads.
Look closer and the pattern becomes extraordinarily fine: narrow calli, small campi and a dense network of side canals crossed by hundreds of bridges. The Venice map poster holds all of this in black and white. It runs from the open space of Piazza San Marco to the long island of the Giudecca across its broad canal, and on to the rail and road bridge leading to the mainland.
Venice was the capital of the Venetian Republic for more than a thousand years. Together with its lagoon, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Rialto Bridge, for centuries the only fixed crossing of the Grand Canal, still marks the old commercial heart of the city, while the Arsenale in the east recalls its past as a naval power.

Giudecca and its canal
South of the main islands, the long, narrow Giudecca sits across the wide Giudecca Canal. It gives the lower part of the map a strong horizontal band.
Bridge to the mainland
The long, straight rail and road bridge across the lagoon links Venice to the mainland. It runs out from the compact island mass as a single line.

Kwa nini Venice
Ramani yenye maana
Venice is a common choice for honeymoon keepsakes, travel memories and gifts for anyone who has lost themselves in its alleys. Few city plans are so dense and so recognisable. In black and white it looks almost like an engraving.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a wedding date or the name of a favourite campo. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download HD files for $9, or order a printed poster on matte paper, framed or unframed.
