The Yiwu River
The river crosses the basin on a gentle diagonal, spanned by a series of bridges. Its line breaks up an otherwise rigid street grid and gives the composition a clear axis.

Yiwu Map Poster & Print
Yiwu sits in a basin in central Zhejiang. The Yiwu River runs through it from northeast to southwest, and the surrounding hills are low and scattered rather than steep. On a map the city is a compact mass of blocks packed onto the flat valley floor. Almost every street runs at a right angle to another, so from above it reads like an orderly place.
The city is best known for its wholesale trade. The Yiwu International Trade City is one of the largest small-commodity markets in the world, and its long market halls appear on the map as broad rectangles in the northern districts. Yiwu is also the Chinese end of a long-distance freight rail route to Madrid, which ties this inland city to Europe.
A Yiwu map poster turns all of this into a clean black-and-white print. Residential blocks crowd close to the river, the wide avenues run out towards the logistics zones, and the edges fade into irrigated fields and wooded slopes. Few trading cities are this legible from above. The grid shows how quickly the city was laid out and how much of it was planned around moving goods.

Market districts
The trade city complexes appear as very large, uniform blocks. Their scale stands out against the finer residential streets around them and marks where the city's economy is concentrated.
Basin edges
The dense urban fabric thins out towards low hills and farmland. The poster gets a soft natural frame instead of a hard cut-off at the edge.

Kwa nini Yiwu
Ramani yenye maana
Yiwu tends to matter to people who have worked there, sourced products there or lived there for a stretch of years. A map of the city is a quiet reminder of that time, and it hangs as easily in an office as it does at home.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the year you first arrived or the name of a company. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
