Two river mouths
The Dee reaches the sea through the harbour channel, while the Don meets the coast further north beside the medieval Brig o' Balgownie, giving the city two clear watery edges.

Aberdeen Map Poster & Print
Aberdeen sits on Scotland's north-east coast between two rivers: the Dee curls in from the south-west to the harbour, while the Don runs along the northern side toward the sea. Between them lies a compact centre of grey granite, which gave the city its nickname, the Granite City. On a map the rivers act like brackets, holding the older city in place.
Union Street runs as a straight spine through the centre, carried over the Denburn valley on a bridge, with a denser pattern of lanes around it. The harbour cuts deep into the south of the city, and at its mouth the tiny fishing quarter of Footdee sits in neat rows. North of the centre, Old Aberdeen gathers around King's College, founded in 1495.
Since the 1970s North Sea oil has shaped the city's economy and outskirts, and the pattern of industrial estates and ring roads reflects it. An Aberdeen map poster shows both sides: the medieval university quarter and the working port, the long straight esplanade along the beach and the two rivers that frame everything.

Union Street
A long, almost perfectly straight street running east to west through the centre, laid out in the early nineteenth century and carried over a valley on a single wide bridge.
Beach Esplanade
Beyond the harbour the coast turns into a long, open sand beach with a straight promenade road behind it, one of the cleanest lines anywhere on the map.

Tanba sa Aberdeen
Mapa ida ho signifikadu
Aberdeen is a city people carry with them: students of the university, families from the oil years, anyone who grew up with the sea wind on Union Street. The map suits the place well, since granite grey already looks like a black-and-white print.
Personalise the title, write a subtitle with a graduation year or a family name, and adjust the coordinates line. Pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white and Noir to Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then choose a digital file or a framed print.
