Elizabeth Map Poster & Print
Elizabeth sits on the western shore of Newark Bay, the seat of Union County and one of the largest cities in New Jersey. Its map is unusually layered: a residential grid of older neighbourhoods to the west, the Elizabeth River winding through the centre, and to the east a broad band of port terminals, highways and airport land meeting the water.
Founded in 1664 as Elizabethtown, it is among the oldest English-speaking settlements in the state and served as New Jersey's first capital. Today part of Newark Liberty International Airport lies within its limits, and the Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal, one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast, fills much of its bay frontage.
An Elizabeth map poster holds these contrasts together. Fine residential streets sit beside the long geometric forms of runways and container berths, the New Jersey Turnpike slices north to south, and rail lines converge on the centre. The result is a graphic, almost architectural composition that shows how an old colonial town became part of a global gateway.

Elizabeth River
The narrow river curves through the city from north-west to south-east, a soft line cutting across the grid before it reaches the Arthur Kill.
Airport edge
The runways and taxiways of Newark Liberty International spill over the northern boundary, giving the upper part of the poster clean, bold lines.
