Jiangbei Map Poster & Print
Jiangbei, whose name means north of the river, spreads along the northern banks of the Jialing and Yangtze where they meet at the heart of Chongqing. On the map its riverfront faces the Yuzhong peninsula directly, and the district climbs inland over hilly ground in a tangle of elevated roads, interchanges and high-rise blocks that follow the terrain rather than any grid.
At the district's tip, the Chongqing Grand Theatre looks across the water towards Chaotianmen, where the two rivers join. Bridges tie Jiangbei to the rest of the city, and commercial areas such as Guanyinqiao have grown into major hubs. Chongqing's main airport carries the Jiangbei name, though it lies some distance further north.
A Jiangbei map poster shows a very particular kind of urban landscape: mountain-city streets that loop and double back, expressways stacked over one another and two broad rivers cutting across the frame. Even in black and white, it conveys the vertical, layered character that makes Chongqing unlike most other Chinese cities.

Bridges across the Jialing
Long bridges span the river in bold straight lines, linking the district with Yuzhong and giving the map strong structural accents.
Hillside road network
Inland, roads wind around slopes and interchanges knot together, forming the complex, organic pattern typical of Chongqing's mountain terrain.

Tanba sa Jiangbei
Mapa ida ho signifikadu
Chongqing leaves a strong impression, and Jiangbei is where many people live, work or first saw the river confluence at night. A map of the district captures that complex terrain in a form that is calm and easy to live with.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the date you moved or a favourite neighbourhood. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Noir suits the city's night-time character especially well. Digital files cost $9.
