Kashihara Map Poster & Print
Kashihara lies on the eastern edge of Osaka Prefecture, at the point where the Yamato River runs out of the hills from Nara and onto the Osaka plain. From above, the river is the central feature. It enters through a narrow gap, meets the Ishikawa River, and continues west with streets and rail lines packed along its banks.
The town's shape comes from its terrain. Hills rise on the east side, and housing climbs their lower slopes in terraced curves. The flatter land near the river holds the station areas and denser blocks. The area has long been known for grape growing on these hillsides, and the vineyards give the map a softer, open texture along its edges.
A Kashihara map poster captures a threshold between two prefectures, between hills and plain, and between the river's upper and lower courses. In monochrome the contrast between crowded valley floor and open slope is clear, and the two rivers meeting make a natural focal point for the composition.

Meeting of rivers
The Ishikawa joins the Yamato within the city area. The two channels form a clear confluence, a natural centre for any framing of the poster.
Hillside slopes
Hills rise to the east, with housing on their lower slopes and vineyards and woodland above. They leave a lighter, open band on the map.

Kashihara suits people who like maps with visible terrain: a river gap, a confluence and slopes that climb away from the tracks. It makes a fitting gift for anyone who commuted from here into Osaka or grew up between the hills.
