Palmer Map Poster & Print
Palmer is a town in western Massachusetts, east of Springfield. It is made up of four villages: Depot Village, Thorndike, Three Rivers and Bondsville. From above, it looks less like one town than a group of separate clusters. Each has its own streets, linked by roads and rivers through wooded country.
In the village of Three Rivers, the Ware, Swift and Quaboag rivers join to form the Chicopee River, a meeting of waters that is easy to see on a map. Palmer was once a busy railway junction. It is often called the Town of Seven Railroads, and rail lines still cross it.
A Palmer map poster shows New England's industrial history in outline: mill villages placed where water provided power, and railways tying them together. The pattern of rivers and village centres makes a composition that is more intricate than the town's size suggests.

Four villages
Depot Village, Thorndike, Three Rivers and Bondsville form separate clusters of streets. Together they give the map several centres instead of one.
Rail crossings
Railway lines cross the town, a legacy of its time as a busy junction. They add long, straight lines that contrast with the winding rivers.
