Church-centred core
As in many towns of the Brazilian interior, the streets gather around a central square and church, which forms the densest part of the map.

Pio IX Map Poster & Print
Pio IX lies in the semi-arid interior of Piauí, near the border with Ceará. From above, the town is a tight cluster of streets surrounded by open, lightly marked countryside. Dirt roads run out from its edges to farms and smaller communities, and in some directions the map stays almost empty for a long way.
The town is named after Pope Pius IX, a naming choice found in several places across the Brazilian interior. Its streets follow a simple, practical layout, with the main square and church near the centre and residential blocks spreading out from them. This shape is common in sertão towns that grew up around a church and a market.
A Pio IX map poster keeps that simplicity. The dense centre stands out clearly against a lot of white space, and the thin lines of rural roads give the sheet a quiet, spare look. It works well as a keepsake for anyone with family roots in this part of the Northeast.

Roads into the sertão
Thin roads and tracks run out from the town into the dry countryside, linking it to farms and neighbouring communities across the semi-arid landscape.
Open surroundings
Beyond the last blocks there is little built-up area, which gives the poster generous negative space around a small, clearly defined centre.

Mapa ida ho signifikadu
Many people from the Piauí interior now live far from their hometowns, in Teresina, Fortaleza, São Paulo or abroad. A map of Pio IX keeps a precise image of home on the wall, with the town exactly as it sits in its landscape.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle with a family name or a date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the dry country around the town.
