Numbered colonial grid
Two main axes divide the centre into quadrants, and the streets are numbered outward in each direction. The result is one of the most orderly street plans of any colonial city in the Americas.

Puebla Map Poster & Print
Puebla was founded in 1531 on an open plain, and its planners drew it with a ruler. From above, the historic centre is a near-perfect grid of long rectangular blocks. The grid is turned slightly off north, with the zócalo and cathedral at its heart. Streets are numbered outward from two central axes, so the city reads almost like graph paper, one block after another in every direction.
Beyond the old core the grid loosens into newer districts. The Periférico and the highways toward Mexico City and Veracruz trace wider arcs. To the north rise the hills of Loreto and Guadalupe, where forts stood during the battle of 5 May 1862, a victory now remembered as Cinco de Mayo. To the west lies Cholula, almost joined to Puebla by continuous streets.
A Puebla map poster works because the pattern stays legible at every scale. At a small size the grid reads as texture, and at a large one you can follow individual calles and avenidas from the centre to the edge. The historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its tiled Talavera facades, though on paper it is the geometry that tells the story.

Loreto and Guadalupe
North of the centre, green space breaks the pattern. The forts of Loreto and Guadalupe sit here on high ground above the city, where the 1862 battle was fought.
Atoyac River edge
The Atoyac runs along the western side of the city. Its curve cuts against the grid and separates Puebla from the suburbs that stretch toward Cholula.

For anyone who studied, married or grew up in Puebla, the grid works like an address book, and every block holds a memory. Use a neighbourhood name as the title and a date as the subtitle, then keep or edit the coordinates line underneath.
Classic black and white gives crisp lines, and Sand gives a warmer tone that sits well with tiled kitchens and terracotta. The $9 digital HD files include six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF. Printed posters ship on matte paper, with an optional frame.
