Qilian Map Poster & Print
Qilian is a county town in Haibei, in north-eastern Qinghai, lying in a high valley at the foot of the Qilian Mountains. On a map, the town is a narrow band of streets following the valley floor and its river. The ground rises steeply on both sides toward ridges and alpine grassland, so the town's shape is set by the terrain.
The Qilian range forms the long boundary between Qinghai and Gansu and is known for its glaciers, grasslands and herding areas. Around the town, roads follow the river valleys through the mountains, while the higher slopes remain largely open. The contrast between the built-up strip and the empty land around it is striking.
A Qilian map poster shows how a town takes shape in high country. There is no sprawling grid, just a long, compact settlement stretched along the water. The composition is spare and calm, with mountain space dominating the frame.

Qilian Mountains
The range that gives the county its name rises around the town. It is known for glaciers and high grassland on the Qinghai–Gansu border.
Roads through valleys
Routes leave town along river valleys rather than across the ridges, so the road lines on the map trace the shape of the mountains.
