Itapicuru river
The river passes beside the town and runs through the dry landscape. Its course is the main natural feature on the map and explains where the settlement grew.

Queimadas Map Poster & Print
Queimadas lies in the north of Bahia, in the semi-arid sertão, where most of the vegetation is caatinga, the thorny dry forest of northeastern Brazil. The town grew beside the Itapicuru river. On a map its streets gather close to the water in a compact centre that quickly thins out into dirt roads and open land.
The name means burned in Portuguese, a plain word that suits a place defined by heat and dry country. A railway line passes through the town and adds a long, steady curve to a plan otherwise shaped by the river and the terrain. Roads leave in several directions toward neighbouring municipalities across the sertão.
A Queimadas map poster captures a kind of place found across inland Bahia: a river town in dry country, where every line on the map relates to water, rail or the roads that link scattered farms. The result is spare and clear, with plenty of open ground around a dense core.

Railway curve
A rail line crosses the area in a long, even arc. Its engineered shape stands apart from the irregular streets and tracks around it.
Open sertão
Beyond the built-up area the map is mostly open land, marked only by thin roads and farm tracks crossing the caatinga toward distant settlements.
