Padma riverfront
The wide Padma forms the city's southern boundary. A riverside embankment and promenade trace the line where the streets meet open water and sandbanks.

Rajshahi Map Poster & Print
Rajshahi stretches east to west along the north bank of the Padma, the name the Ganges takes in Bangladesh. From above the city is long rather than round. The river forms its entire southern edge, shifting sandbanks and chars lie out in the channel, and the streets pack inland from an embankment that follows the water.
The city is known across Bangladesh for silk and for mangoes, which grow in large orchards in the surrounding region. Rajshahi also has a reputation for tidy streets and relatively clean air. It is home to a large public university and the Varendra Research Museum, one of the oldest museums in the country, which holds archaeological finds from the Bengal region.
A Rajshahi map poster is organised by that riverbank. A few main roads run parallel to the Padma, with lanes branching north into denser neighbourhoods, campuses and the railway. Most of the lower half of the sheet is open river, so the city seems to sit on a broad white or dark field of water.

Parallel spine
Main roads run east to west, parallel to the river, giving the map a horizontal structure. Smaller streets branch north from them into residential areas.
Campus grounds
The large university campus shows up as a wide area of internal paths and open space among the tighter blocks of the city.
