Sarkhej lies on the southwestern edge of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, where the older fabric of the city meets fast-growing new districts. The best-known landmark is the Sarkhej Roza, a fifteenth-century complex of mosque, tombs and palace buildings arranged around a large stepped tank.
