Two eastern arteries
Mile End Road and Commercial Road run roughly parallel toward the City, framing the neighbourhood with two strong lines that give the whole composition its direction.

Stepney Map Poster & Print
Stepney sits in the East End of London, inside the borough of Tower Hamlets, and from above it reads as a close weave of short residential streets held between two long arteries. Mile End Road runs along the north side and Commercial Road along the south, both pulling traffic toward the City, while the blocks between them stay small, interlocking and irregular in a way that only an old parish can produce.
The oldest fixed point is St Dunstan's, the parish church whose churchyard makes a clear open patch in the street pattern. Stepney was heavily bombed during the Blitz, and the rebuilding that followed shows on the map as a change of texture: stretches of Victorian terraces give way to the larger footprints of post-war estates, their courtyards and green spaces set at angles to the older lines.
A Stepney map poster captures that layered quality without any of the noise. Green spaces such as Stepney Green open up the grid, and to the east the Regent's Canal traces a quiet line past Mile End Park. Printed in black and white, the neighbourhood becomes a study in how a crowded inner district has been built, broken and remade street by street.

St Dunstan's churchyard
The ancient parish church and its green churchyard form one of the few rounded open spaces in the district, a quiet anchor among the tightly packed surrounding streets.
Canal on the edge
The Regent's Canal passes along the eastern side beside Mile End Park, a thin continuous line of water that contrasts with the broken, busy street pattern to its west.

Mapa ida ho signifikadu
Stepney is a place people grow up in, move through in their first London flat, or trace back to through family stories of the East End. A map of its streets keeps that personal geography close, whether the connection is a recent address or several generations old.
You can add your own title, a subtitle and a date or coordinates line, then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster is available as a $9 digital download or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
