Táriba Map Poster & Print
Táriba lies in the state of Táchira in western Venezuela, a short distance from San Cristóbal and effectively part of its metropolitan area. It is the seat of the Guásimos municipality and sits in the valley of the Torbes River, in the foothills of the Andes. The land slopes steeply on several sides, so the town's streets follow terraces and ridges as much as a grid.
The town is best known for the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation of Táriba, home to the image venerated as the patroness of Táchira. Pilgrims arrive throughout the year, and the basilica stands at the heart of the old centre, around which the densest streets are gathered, making it the natural focal point of any map of the town.
A Táriba map poster shows a small, closely built town shaped by its valley: the river along one side, roads climbing to the higher neighbourhoods, and the link toward San Cristóbal. It is intimate in scale, and for people from Táchira it carries both a sense of home and a sense of devotion.

Torbes River valley
The river runs along the valley floor, a winding line that the town follows and that connects it with the rest of the San Cristóbal area.
Hillside streets
Roads climb the slopes in curves and short steep segments, giving the map an irregular, stepped texture around the flatter centre.

Tanba sa Táriba
Mapa ida ho signifikadu
For many Tachirenses, Táriba is a place of family visits and promises made to the Virgin. A map of the town can mark a baptism, a wedding or simply the street where someone grew up, and it travels well to relatives living abroad.
