Hillside vineyards
East of the centre the land rises into the Kraichgau, and the small lanes winding between vineyard plots add a delicate, looser texture to that side of the print.

Wiesloch Map Poster & Print
Wiesloch sits on the edge of the Upper Rhine plain a little over ten kilometres south of Heidelberg, just where the land starts to climb into the Kraichgau hills. The map shows this clearly: to the west, flat ground crossed by motorways and rail lines; to the east, vineyards and orchards on rising slopes. Between them, the compact old town gathers around its historic streets.
The town has an unusual place in motoring history. In August 1888 Bertha Benz stopped at the town pharmacy on her pioneering long-distance drive from Mannheim to Pforzheim and bought ligroin to fuel the car, which is why Wiesloch is often called the world's first filling station. Long before that, the hills around the town were mined for silver, lead and zinc.
A Wiesloch map poster brings several layers together: the tight historic street pattern, the wine-growing hillsides, the railway and the corridor of roads linking the town with neighbouring Walldorf. The mix of neat planning and older, organic lanes keeps the sheet interesting at every size. It suits locals, people who work in the area, and anyone drawn to the Bertha Benz story.

Old town core
The historic centre forms a compact cluster of crooked streets, standing apart from the more regular post-war districts and business parks that surround it.
Rhine plain edge
To the west the flat plain opens out, crossed by straight transport corridors, so the map shows two distinct landscapes meeting within a single frame.
