Dalung is a village area in the North Kuta district of Badung regency, on the southern side of Bali, just beyond the northern edge of Denpasar. Its location between the city and the coast around Canggu has made it one of the places where much of the island's recent housing growth has taken place, turning agricultural land into residential neighbourhoods.
The map shows this transition clearly. Lanes branch off a few main roads in narrow, closely spaced lines, often following the old boundaries of rice fields and subak irrigation channels, and they end abruptly where fields remain. The result is a fine, comb-like pattern of streets rather than a grid, with pockets of open green land still visible between the built-up blocks.
