Aileu Map Poster & Print
Aileu is the capital of the municipality of the same name in Timor-Leste. It lies in the mountains south of Dili, reached by a winding road that climbs from the coast. The town is set in a valley among steep ridges, and its streets follow the flatter ground along the valley floor.
On a map, Aileu is small and loosely arranged. It has a few main streets, government and church buildings, and houses scattered among gardens and trees. The land rises sharply on all sides, and roads curve along the contours as they head towards the surrounding villages. The highland climate is cooler than the coast, and the area is known for farming and coffee growing.
An Aileu map poster shows a quiet highland town surrounded by rugged terrain. Its lines are few but expressive: the valley road, the curving routes into the hills, and the small cluster of streets at the centre. It is a meaningful piece for Timorese families and for those who have worked in the region.

Road from Dili
The winding road up from the capital is the town's main link to the coast. On the poster it is a long, sinuous line.
Highland slopes
Steep, green slopes surround the town, with scattered homes and farm plots. They form an open, textured frame around the centre.
