Old village centre
The historic core, near the parish church and around the original village streets, remains the focal point from which the later suburban development spreads.

Aldridge Map Poster & Print
Aldridge is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, in the West Midlands of England, a few miles north of Birmingham. It began as a village and grew mainly in the twentieth century, when housing estates spread across the surrounding farmland. The old village core is still visible on the map, with newer residential streets built out around it.
From above, Aldridge is a typical English suburban plan: winding crescents, closes and cul-de-sacs branching off a few main roads. A canal runs along the western side of the area, and to the north and east the houses give way to fields, woods and quarry land that form part of the green belt.
An Aldridge map poster captures the gentle curves of this suburban pattern. Unlike a grid, the streets loop and dead-end, giving the print a detailed, almost fingerprint-like texture. The open land on its edges gives the composition a natural frame.

Suburban crescents
Twentieth-century estates fill much of the map with looping crescents and cul-de-sacs, a pattern that creates a fine, flowing texture in black and white.
Canal and green belt
A canal passes along the western side, and fields and woodland to the north and east limit the built-up area, giving the town a clear outer edge.
