Apalit lies on the flat, fertile plain of Central Luzon, in the province of Pampanga near its border with Bulacan. The Pampanga River runs through the municipality, and on the map it is the defining feature: a broad, winding line with streets and barangays gathered along both banks.
The main road network runs roughly north to south, connecting Apalit with San Fernando and with Bulacan and Manila beyond. Away from the river and the main roads, the map shows smaller streets, rice fields and fishponds, with settlements clustered where the land is highest and driest.
