Ashland Map Poster & Print
Ashland lies at the southern end of Oregon's Rogue Valley, where the valley floor meets the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains. From above, the town stretches along a main road and the railway, with a compact downtown at its centre. To the south-west, streets climb the slopes in winding lines, while Interstate 5 passes along the valley edge towards California.
The town is known for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, which has staged plays here since 1935. Just above the theatres, Lithia Park follows Ashland Creek up into the hills, one of the finest town parks in the region. Southern Oregon University occupies a campus on the south side of town, and Mount Ashland rises beyond.
An Ashland map poster shows the change from the flatter valley streets to the curving roads on the hills. The long ribbon of Lithia Park and the campus add open shapes, and the whole composition has the gentle, rising feel of a town built against a mountain.

Hillside streets
On the southern slopes, roads curve along the contours, creating a looser pattern than the straighter streets on the valley floor.
University campus
Southern Oregon University occupies a clearly defined area with its own internal paths and open spaces, on the south side of town.
