The Burgsee
A roughly circular lake right beside the old centre. On the poster it forms a bold solid shape, and the town's streets visibly curve to follow its shoreline.

Bad Salzungen Map Poster & Print
Few towns have such a clear centrepiece as Bad Salzungen. The Burgsee, a lake almost in the middle of town, sits right beside the old centre, and the streets bend around its shore. To the south and west the Werra river winds through its valley, and the outer districts stretch along the roads that follow it.
The town's name and its history come from salt. Brine springs made it a salt-producing town and later a spa, and its long graduation works, timber walls where brine trickles over brushwood, are still part of the spa grounds. Bad Salzungen is in western Thuringia, close to the Rhön hills.
A Bad Salzungen map poster works because the lake gives the design a clear anchor. The water prints as a solid shape, the old streets tighten around it, and the Werra adds a long curve along the edge. It reads almost like a diagram of how a spa town is put together.

Werra valley
The river loops through open ground near the town, and roads and a railway follow its gentle bends through the valley.
Spa quarter
The spa district with its graduation works makes a greener, more open patch of paths and gardens beside the denser grid of the old town.
