Würzburg sits in a wide bend of the River Main, and the map makes its structure easy to read. The old town lies on the east bank. It is surrounded by the Ringpark, a green belt that follows the line of the former fortifications, while the Marienberg Fortress stands on the hill across the river.
The Old Main Bridge, lined with statues of saints, links the two sides and is one of the city's best known sights. Old Main Bridge
