Băicoi Map Poster & Print
Băicoi lies in Prahova County, in the band of country where the Wallachian plain begins to lift toward the Carpathians. The town stretches along its main roads rather than gathering around a single square, and from above it looks like a set of long, connected settlements with side streets branching off into residential blocks and gardens.
This part of Prahova has long been associated with oil extraction, and Băicoi grew with the industry. On the map, the working landscape shows through in the spacing of the town and in the tracks and roads that lead out into the surrounding fields and low hills. The Prahova valley and its main transport routes run close by.
A Băicoi map poster is a way to hold on to a very particular kind of Romanian town: linear, practical and shaped by work, but with a clear logic when seen from above. The long street lines, the gardens behind the houses and the rising ground to the north make a quietly distinctive composition in black and white.

Oil country
Băicoi belongs to the historic oil-producing area of Prahova, and the working landscape of tracks and open land between settlements is part of its character on the map.
Foothill setting
Low hills rise to the north of the town, the first step from the plain toward the mountains, and roads begin to curve as the ground lifts.
