Bailadores Map Poster & Print
Bailadores lies in the Mocotíes valley, in the Andes of Mérida state in western Venezuela. The valley floor is narrow, and the town fills it. A tidy grid of streets in the Spanish colonial tradition, centred on a main plaza, ends abruptly where the mountainsides begin to rise.
The Mocotíes River runs along the valley, and roads follow it in both directions toward neighbouring towns. Above the town, farms and paths climb the slopes in irregular shapes. Nearby is the Cascada de la India Carlota, a tall waterfall that is one of the best-known sights in the area.
A Bailadores map poster works because of this contrast. There is an orderly grid on the valley floor, and around it the loose, winding lines of mountain roads. It is a small place, and the map shows the whole of it with the valley setting.

Mocotíes River
The river follows the length of the valley past the town. It adds a flowing line that runs parallel to the main road.
Mountain roads
Above the grid, narrow roads wind up the slopes toward farms and higher villages. Their curves show how steep the terrain is.
