Balung Map Poster & Print
Balung lies in Jember Regency in the eastern part of Java, on the broad agricultural plain that runs south toward the Indian Ocean. The land is flat and intensively farmed. From above, the town is a cluster of streets along the main regional road, surrounded by rice fields, plantations and village lanes that spread in every direction.
Jember as a whole is closely associated with tobacco, which has been grown and cured here for well over a century. Its countryside is a working landscape of fields, irrigation channels and small settlements linked by narrow roads. Balung is one of the market towns serving that farmland south of the regency capital.
A Balung map poster shows a town that is part of its surroundings rather than separate from them. There is a dense core of streets, and around it a fine mesh of village lanes and field paths. It is a thoughtful keepsake for people from southern Jember living elsewhere in Indonesia or abroad.

Village mesh
Around the centre, closely spaced villages are linked by a web of small lanes, creating a dense, even texture across the plain.
Irrigated fields
Canals and field boundaries divide the farmland into small parcels, drawn in fine lines that fill the paler areas of the poster.
