Paraíba do Sul
The river curves through the heart of the city. It gives the poster a bold, flowing spine, and the streets line up on both banks.

Barra Mansa Map Poster & Print
Barra Mansa grew up along the Paraíba do Sul river in the south of Rio de Janeiro state, in the valley that links Rio and São Paulo. The river runs through the middle of the city in broad curves. The urban area runs along its banks, and streets branch off into the steep, rounded hills that close in the valley on both sides.
The city lies right next to Volta Redonda, home of one of Brazil's largest steelworks, and together the two form a single industrial region. Railway lines and the main Rio–São Paulo highway corridor pass nearby. They add long, straight lines to a map otherwise shaped by water and hillsides.
A Barra Mansa map poster captures a city defined by a river valley. You see the Paraíba do Sul flowing through the centre, the bridges crossing it, and the curving, uneven blocks where neighbourhoods fill the lower slopes. It is a quiet but very readable map, with a strong central axis and plenty of organic detail.

Hill neighbourhoods
Away from the river the streets wind up the rounded hills of the valley. The result is irregular, contour-following patterns that contrast with the flatter centre.
Bridges and rail
Bridges tie the two banks together, and railway lines run along the valley. They add crisp crossings and long straight strokes to the composition.
