Bexhill-on-Sea Map Poster & Print
Bexhill-on-Sea lies on the East Sussex coast between Eastbourne and Hastings. The map shows a clear division: an older village core on higher ground inland, and the planned seaside town laid out in the late nineteenth century, with streets running down to a long, straight seafront promenade.
The town's best-known building is the De La Warr Pavilion, opened in 1935 and one of the first major modernist public buildings in Britain. Bexhill also calls itself the birthplace of British motor racing, after a speed trial held along the seafront in 1902.
A Bexhill-on-Sea map poster works almost as a diagram of a seaside resort. The coastline forms a firm edge, the promenade runs along it, and the residential streets fill the land behind. In black and white it has the calm, orderly look the town itself is known for.
