Correntes Map Poster & Print
Correntes lies in the agreste of Pernambuco, the transitional zone between the humid coast and the dry sertão of north-east Brazil. From above, the town is compact: a small centre of streets and squares, surrounded by hills and farmland crossed by country roads.
The centre has the typical layout of a small north-eastern Brazilian town, with a main square, a church and streets branching out from them. Beyond it the land becomes open, with pastures, small farms and scattered houses connected by unpaved roads following the terrain.
A Correntes map poster shows a place defined by its scale. The streets are close together, the edges are clear, and the countryside around them is wide. It is a map of a town that people often leave for larger cities but continue to think of as home.
